Upcoming BOC Meetings

Special Called Commission Meeting: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 31st, Citizen's Hall - purpose of the meeting is to consider the extension of a one percent sale and use tax and related matters, and any other matters that may come before the Board.

Note: There is not an agenda available for this meeting on the Douglas County website--probably because it is a special called meeting.

Commission Meeting: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6th, Citizen's Hall

Public Hearings on the following issues will be held by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners during its 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20th, Commission Meeting in Citizen's Hall of the Douglas County Courthouse:
-- An application by IDI for a burial disturbance permit to relocate the Love Family Cemetery; and
-- Adoption of an Ordinance re-creating the Douglas County Cemetery Preservation Commission.

I looked up IDI and apparently it is a real estate development firm--most likely they want to relocate the cemetary to build a subdivision. I looked on the Douglas County website and it says the graves are being relocated to Pleasant Grove Church. Isn't this against the law or something? If it isn't, it should be.
